Weekly Announcements

1. FLOWERS Today’s flowers are given by Susan and Phil Hois in
loving memory of Susan’s mother, Anita Dudas.

2. CONGREGATIONAL MEETING The session has called a
congregational meeting for today during the 9:30 am. worship service.
The purpose of the meeting is to act on the request of Rev. Ken White
for dissolution of the pastoral relationship between him and the NPC
congregation to be effective July 14, 2008.

3. SUMMER SMALL GROUP FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
On Wednesday nights, we’ll meet in the Adult Meeting Room (hooray
for air conditioning) from 7-8 pm to watch a video and discuss it. The
small group meetings will happen every other Wednesday for four more
weeks. (Those dates are 7/2, 7/16, 7/30, and 8/13.) Everyone is invited
and you are welcome to bring a friend!

4. KEN’S REMAINING SUNDAY SCHEDULE Ken will be
preaching today, July 6th and his final Sunday will be on July 13th.

5. CELEBRATION FOR KEN You should have received a letter
with all the details for a farewell celebration for Ken. We will have a
dinner at Lakeview on Route 30 in Greensburg, on Sunday evening July
13th at 6:00 pm. and your response is needed by TOMORROW. If you
did not receive a letter, there are copies in the hall rack by the office or
you can download the form online from the Newlonsburg.org website.

*Note: Our expenses are up8 this year due to significant increases in
utilities & insurance and we hired a full-time youth director.

7. STAFF VACATIONS Please note that Marnie and Shelley
are on vacation this week and Sarah is on the FISH worktrip. Call
the church first to be sure someone is in if you need access.

8. BUILDING SECURITY We are asking ALL users of the building
and the ARC to be more responsible in making sure that ALL doors are
locked AND latched and that lights and thermostats are turned off or
down before you leave. Always lock any door that you unlocked before
you leave, EVEN if there are still other people in the building.

9. AN EVENING AT THE THEATER Enjoy an entertaining
evening at the Apple Hill Playhouse production of the musical,
Footloose, on Sunday, July 20. A reception will begin at 6:00 pm. with
appetizers and beverages. The show begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are only
$20.00, and proceeds benefit East Suburban Citizen Advocacy, a local
organization that supports one-to-one relationships between individuals
with disabilities and caring members of the community. There is a signup
sheet on the bulletin board across from the office. Please make
checks payable to East Suburban Citizen Advocacy. For more

10. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL The Rainforest Adventure is
coming soon. Please get your registration forms in so we know how
many children to plan for. Extra “lime green”registration forms are in
the rack by the office door.

11. WHY ARE THERE TOMATOES IN THE FLOWER BEDS?
The vegetables you see in the flowers beds are growing to provide some
fresh produce for the Loaves and Fishes Emergency Food Pantry. As
you watch the plants grow, remember that the pantry needs food
donations every week.

Consider being part of such a conversation in the fall. Copies of the JIF
program description are available by the Church Office, at the stairway
entrance to Fellowship Hall and the sanctuary narthex. You may place
your tear-off registration slip in the offering plate during worship or

MOPS is coming to Murrysville this fall! MOPS stands for Mothers Of
Preschoolers (www.MOPS.org), a program designed to nurture mothers
with children from infancy through kindergarten focusing on the unique
needs of moms in this phase of life. MOPS groups meet in churches
throughout the United States, Canada, and 19 other countries. You don't
have to do mothering alone. Whether you need a friend to compare
stories with, a shoulder to lean on, or ideas to help you be a better mom-
MOPS is just the place. Experience warmth and shared wisdom from
other moms, not all the same age, lifestyles or backgrounds, but all with
a shared desire to be the best mothers they can be. MOPS will be
meeting at Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church, in Murrysville every
other Friday morning from 9:30-11:30 September-May. Registration is

14. BULLETIN DEADLINE Please note that with the office on
summer hours, the deadline for the bulletin has changed to Tuesday by
noon. Please get your announcements in before the deadline so that they
may be included in the upcoming bulletin. Thank you!

15. GOOD NEWLONSBURG The next GN will be the August issue
with a deadline of July 13th for articles. Items submitted earlier would be
appreciated. It will be mailed on July 23rd. Articles should be submitted
to Shelley via email at npc@alltel.net with GN referenced in the subject
line. (Receipt of emailed articles will be confirmed via a return
message). Or you may drop off an article in her mailbox in the church
office. Please include your name in case there are any questions.

16. CHRISTIAN EDUCATION Volunteers needed! There are
many opportunities for you to nurture the faith of our children and
youth. Needs for the fall start-up are listed below. We would like
to have volunteers in place by mid summer. Please pray about
serving and contact Ann Rittiger if you are called in this way.
Youth - Leaders for FISH and Lost Sheep. Kids In Christ -
Coordinator as well as teachers, shepherds and kitchen staff.
Sunday School - Teachers for any grade and a Treasurer. Children
and Worship - Storytellers and adult greeters for both services.
MOPS - Teachers for the childcare MOPPETS curriculum (2
Friday mornings a month). MINTEC - Helpers.
Journeys in Faith small groups - Small group leaders.
