Outreach
In response to God's Challenge to be agents of love in a hurting world, the Outreach Ministry provides opportunities and means for the NPC family to broaden its involvement in, and support of, mission activities. Following the command of Christ to go into all of the world, our missions are local, national and global. We understand that as we give ourselves away in services of love, we receive more than we give.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
NPC is organizing volunteer groups to work with the Central Westmoreland Habitat for Humanity (CWHFH). This is a great local mission opportunity that can fit your schedule! Normal work days are Tuesday and/or Thursday and/or Saturday. Tasks are available for everyone, even if you aren’t very handy.
To get involved, register on the CWHFH volunteer page at http://www.centralwestmorelandhfh.org/volunteers.htm and contact Mark Lieber at 724-325-4792 or marklieber@alltel.net.
CROP HUNGER WALK
NPC is a major participant in the local Church World Service CROP Hunger Walk. Funds raised in the Murrysville walk are used to fight hunger and poverty around the world, including the United States. And 25% of the total raised is used right here in Murrysville to help our local food distribution programs and the Loaves and Fishes Emergency Food. The CROP Hunger Walk is a wonderful way for members of our congregation of all ages to join with others in the community to help fight hunger.
WESTMORELAND COUNTY FOOD BANK IN DELMONT
Each quarter, NPC organizes a volunteer group to assist in food packing at the Westmoreland County Food Bank in Delmont from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. The Westmoreland County Food Bank is a private, non-profit organization that collects, stores, and distributes food and household products to over 80 member agencies in Westmoreland County. These include soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, day care and senior centers for people with low incomes and summer programs for children. MISSION FAIR
Every other year Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church holds a Mission Fair on a Sunday morning in Fellowship Hall. Numerous groups sponsored by NPC are available to talk about what they do, who they help, and how you can be a part of it. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about mission, learn about local volunteer opportunities, buy Christmas presents that help great causes, and enjoy a good cup of Fair Trade coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
HUNGER OFFERINGS
Each month at our communion services we are given the opportunity to give that something extra to fight hunger one person at a time. Hunger offerings are collected and forwarded to organizations that fight hunger. These organizations are rotated between local, regional and national/international. We may not be able to eliminate hunger, but we make a difference to that one person we reach.
SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERINGS
Each week our Sunday School classes take an offering for the Heifer Fund. We save all year in order to purchase animals for families so they have a food resource and income supplement. You can visit Heifer’s web site ( www.heifer.org) to read about what animals are given to families and how they change lives. We help our children get in the habit of giving and sharing by being a part of this weekly offering.
