Reverend Kenneth W. White

Background
Ken is a native of Western Pa. having grown up in the East End of Pittsburgh. While through the years he has had opportunity to travel for pleasure and in mission around the world, he is happy to call this part of God’s creation home. He has been happily married to Gwen since 1973 and is the proud father of Andrew and Alison who are now grown and making their way and leaving their mark on the world.

When not working or thinking about work, Ken likes to get his hands dirty in the garden, to spend time cooking in the kitchen, (having first washed his hands) and to take flights of fancy through the wonder of reading.

Rev. White is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (B.A. 1972) and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1976). From 1974 until 1982 he served Newlonsburg Church as a seminary intern, Assistant Pastor and Associate Pastor. From 1982 to 1995 he served as pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Thomas, in Eighty Four Pa. In 1995 Ken returned to the Newlonsburg church and was installed as Pastor.

I Believe
To the extent that I understand the mystery which is God, I respond to love first given in Christ Jesus. I also respond in hope to the witness of redemptive love demonstrated by the cross, to grace experienced and shared, and to reconciliation achieved and made possible. In faith, I believe that God is working his purpose out and making all things new. By conviction, I believe that the church through worship, study, sharing, and service is the agent of God’s intentions for the world.

I believe that every day provides us with the opportunity to experience God’s mischief in our lives and holy surprises.

Peace in Christ

Ken
